To Be or Not To Be (Outsourcing Telemarketing?)

To Be or Not To Be (Outsourcing Telemarketing?)

By Belinda R Summers

That is the biggest question faced by business managers in Canada today. Should they or shouldn't they try outsourcing telemarketing services? With the economy in such a slump these days, it's only natural to be hesitant in parting with their money. But if they don't invest their hard-earned cash in a good marketing strategy, they'll just end up losing it faster.

In this currently cash-strapped market, nothing can be more expensive than a marketing campaign. However, people will have to admit that it is a necessary expense for the sake of the company continuing to survive. How can people buy from a firm if they don't know the firm exists in the first place? Marketing makes sure that more people become aware of a business' existence and what it can do for them. Telemarketing is the best way to deal with it.

Good telemarketers are an asset to the company. The extent of what they can do for the owner has always been underestimated, but time and again has shown that they have what it takes to keep businesses afloat. Other forms of marketing have its advantages and disadvantages, but telemarketing has a place of its own. Where TV, radio, or print advertising fails, advertising on the phone has met with amazing success. And what makes it even more amazing is the cost it entails. The only sure expenses in this form of advertising would be the salary of the employee (if the owner isn't doing it) and the telephone bills it would sure rack up. Imagine just how much more affordable it would be if the service is outsourced.

Aside from the cost, there are a lot of other reasons why small and medium classes of businesses prefer this method of promotions. For one, a ringing phone will surely grab the attention of people. Someone will always have to answer it. Secondly, commercials may not exactly send the message to the intended audience. Third, businesses in Canada prefer that they can talk to customers directly, even the prospective ones. And lastly, people would rather talk to the promoters instead of hearing all those talk of products and services on TV.

A professional telemarketing provider in Canada would know perfectly well what is needed. They understand that a good relationship between their clients and prospective customers must first be established. That's why a sale is not necessarily required in the first call. They'll have to make the prospects feel comfortable at first. Once rapport has been established, then that's the time for sales talk or negotiations to take place. Professional telemarketers would be able to achieve those goals their clients have set down since they already have the skills, knowledge, and experiences to make things happen.

These days, outsourcing telemarketing services have shown that this is a bright spot in marketing in Canada. With the rising costs of operating businesses, salaries of employees, and dwindling earnings, perhaps it is high time for entrepreneurs to join the current trend. Past dealings of other companies with outside telemarketers have shown this to be a very profitable partnership, and it is quite likely for this trend to continue way into the future.

The future holds a lot of promises for outsourced telemarketing. It would not be difficult to imagine what it can do for businesses in Canada. It may seem to be a radical concept, but careful examination would show that it would work. All that remained is for an intrepid business owner to take advantage of its promises. Others should try it, too. This is an investment that they would surely not regret at all.
